Therapeutic Recreation Technician

This course allows students to train to work as Therapeutic Recreation Technicians.

Therapeutic Recreation Technicians work with doctors, therapists and patients to discover and create goal-oriented programs that incorporate motivation, creativity, and physical challenges to encourage behavioral changes, increase social skills, and improve coordination. TR Technicians may specialize in specific populations (such as adolescents, geriatrics, or the handicapped) and specific areas of therapeutic activities.

The ultimate goal for Therapeutic Recreation is to help the patient overcome social, emotional, and physical challenges so they can look forward to a better lifestyle.

This course fulfills the educational hours required for licensure at the TRT level for the State of Utah.
