Certified Pool Operator Certification

Course Information

Utah Department of Health Rule R392-302 requires all pool operators to be certified.

This is a two-day course for new or license-expired operators that covers skills such as pool and spa chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance and automatic feeding equipment. It also addresses local and state codes as well as other governmental requirements. Register by phone at 801-957-5200 or download a registration form.

Certified operators who need to renew but whose license has not expired can attend the second day to recertify. Operators whose licenses have expired must attend both days.

After successfully completing training, participants must APPLY to the Department of Health to receive their license. A link to the Salt Lake County DOH website is located here and a link to the PERMIT Application is here.
