After 33 years of HVAC contracting, Brent is the Salt Lake County Energy/Mechanical Code Specialist and an ICC Combination Inspector.  He currently serves on the Utah Chapter ICC Code Change and Development Committee as well as several other committees.

A Professional Engineer, Brian has worked in HVAC engineering with an emphasis in energy management for nearly 20 years. He earned a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an MBA from San Diego State University.

 

Brock Thayne, PE, LEED AP

NABCEP Certified PV Installation ProfessionalTM

Brok holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with specialties in     electromagnetics and space craft systems from Utah State University. As the Energy Department Manager for Hunt Electric, Brok has completed several of the largest Solar PV Installation in Utah.

Commercial Energy Analysis

Enrique is an Energy Engineer with kW Engineering, and a board member of the USGBC Utah chapter. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah and his AAS in Energy Management from SLCC in 2010. Formerly, Enrique was the Energy Manager for Salt Lake Community College, and the Energy Analystfor GSBS Architects.

 

Gary Robinson

Energy Accounting and Investment Analysis

As the Program Manager for Rocky Mountain Power's Commercial and Industrial Demand Side Management Programs, Clay is responsible for all DSM regulatory filing, resource acquisition, budget management, strategic planning and program delivery across Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Clay holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from CSU San Bernadino.

President and founder of Atkinson Electronics, Inc., Gaylen is a Distinguished Service award recipient and past president of the Utah chapter of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers). His education includes Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah and a BS in Business from BYU.

James (Jim) is the Engineering Manager for Nexant’s Salt Lake City and Portland offices, and is licensed in four states. He has 20 years of experience in areas including installation, engineering design, facility management, and engineering management.

Lighting Fundamentals and Applications

Joseph (Jody) is a professional lighting designer at Spectrum Engineers in Salt Lake City. Before joining Spectrum, he was International Director of R&D at Strand Lighting, an international lighting controls manufacturer. Jody is the recipient of many international awards for his work in design and sustainability.

 

Sunny Devnani

Sunny Devnani, PE

Commercial Energy Analysis

Sunny heads kW Engineering's Salt Lake city office. He has worked in the field since 2005 and has conducted energy audits at well over 300 sites. He specializes in auditing and recommissioning commercial refrigeration systems, central plants and HVAC systems. Sunny is a licensed mechanical engineer in Utah and is a member of ASHRAE. He holds a M.S. in Engineering Management and B.S. in Chemical Engineering.

 

Thaniel Bishop

NABCEP Certified PV Installation ProfessionalTM

Thaniel Bishop is a certified NABCEP Solar PV Installation Professional and Master Electrician. He has over 10 years of experience designing and installing solar photovoltaic, electrical, gas generator and battery systems.  Thaniel has developed and implemented curriculum and training tools for the Solar Photovoltaic program at SLCC.

 

Tony Hiatt

Tony is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).  Tony has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University, an MBA from Westminster College, and over 30 years of engineering and project management experience working in the energy sector.

William (Billy) is an Energy Analyst with Nexant, focused on residential energy engineering and consulting. His background includes carpentry and residential green construction. Billy holds an AAS in Energy Management from SLCC, and a BA in Psychology from MSCD in Denver.
