Students enrolled in the Energy Management AAS Degree Program are required to perform a capstone event. This program requirement is designed to both apply and to evaluate their learning throughout the two-year degree program, preparing the student for employment within the energy management industry.
Students may elect to perform an Internship or a Capstone Project to fulfill this requirement.
Capstone Project Option
Students electing the Capstone Project option shall follow the guidelines for project approval, completion and final presentation. It is expected that a student will spend approximately 200 hours completing the work of the project.
A student may begin the Capstone Project prior to Block 7 of the Program; however, all work must be complete by the end of Block 7. Students will be evaluated and graded on scope of project, the presentation of the results, and the fulfillment of the learning objectives. Grades will be posted to EGMT 2800 – Energy Management Internship.
It is required that a student intern works for a minimum of 200 hours on pre-approved tasks related to the field of energy management. A schedule of the internship work must be approved by the Internship Faculty. A student may begin the Internship prior to Block 7 of the Program; however, all work must be complete by the end of Block 7. Student will be evaluated and graded on meeting the internship learning objectives, job performance, and professionalism throughout all phases of the internship guidelines. Grades will be posted to EGMT 2800 – Energy Management Internship.
