Refugee Technology Training

The Division of Continuing Education at Salt Lake Community College has partnered with Utah Department of Workforce Services to provide basic technology training through the federal TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) grant. This grant is specific to Utah REFUGEES and will be utilized to assist the employed, unemployed, and underemployed gain valuable training to be more competitive in the workforce. All courses are taught at the Utah Refugee Education and Training Center, 3900 South 250 West, Salt Lake City. The eligibility process requires participation in an interview to assess English proficiency. Space is limited to 10 participants per class. No cost to eligible participants.

PRE-BASIC TECHNOLOGY, BASIC TECHNOLOGY I and II: Students gain basic keyboarding, computer, internet research, and email skills, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
