Facts on the Utah Solar Industry*

There are currently more than 83 solar companies at work throughout the value chain in Utah, employing 2,679 people.

Over the next five years, Utah is expected to install 2,230 MW of solar electric capacity,

ranking the state eighth over that time span.

This amount is more than 9 times the amount of solar installed over the last five years.

Solar Program courses begin again March 2017

The Solar Photovoltaic Program offers the following Certificates of Achievement: 

Solar Photovoltaics Sales Certificate: The Solar Photovoltaic Sales Certificate is desgined to prepare students who are intered in entering or advancing their career in the solar photovoltaic industry. the courses prepare students to conduct site evaluations and properly size systems based on the unique needs of each prospective project.

Solar Photovoltaic Installation Certificate: This series of three courses represents 135* total hours of formal education that thoroughly covers the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Job Task Analysis. This certificate acknowledges an understanding of and experience in overall system installation and maintenencae. It is designed for the person responsible for installation such as contractor, foreman or supervisor. *This includes 45 hours of Advanced PV topics as required by NABCEP.
